Cambridge garden designers

Teasels is a leading garden design studio serving Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, helmed by Daniel Lee, a lifelong horticulturalist, botanist, and educator. With a rich background in landscape design and horticulture, Daniel brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every project.

Daniel's journey in horticulture began at Writtle College, Chelmsford, where he graduated with distinction, earning the prestigious "Allen Sparkes Award" for best Landscape Student. His practical experience includes running a successful landscaping and gardening company in Cambridge, as well as valuable training at two renowned Cambridge University college gardens.

At Teasels, we pride ourselves on our personalized approach to garden design. Daniel personally oversees every project, ensuring that each garden receives the attention to detail and creative vision it deserves. Our collaborative process involves working closely with clients from the initial concept through to the final implementation, resulting in gardens that are not only beautiful but also perfectly tailored to our clients' needs and preferences.

Ecology is at the heart of our design ethos. Nature is fundamental to our approach, and creating a net gain for wildlife is our primary focus. We want our designs to function as sustainable habitats that truly support and enhance local ecosystems. By integrating biodiverse planting and creating spaces that promote wildlife health, we ensure that every garden we design contributes to the flourishing of the natural world.

Our comprehensive service covers all aspects of garden creation, from the initial design phase to the completion of your dream outdoor space. We combine horticultural expertise with innovative design principles to create stunning, sustainable gardens that reflect the unique character of each site and client.

Teasels combines academic expertise, hands-on practical experience, and creative innovation to transform outdoor spaces into beautiful, functional, and environmentally harmonious gardens. Whether you’re seeking to revitalise a compact urban garden or design an expansive rural landscape, we have the skills, passion, and commitment to bring your vision to life. At the heart of our design ethos is a deep respect for ecology, recognising that nature is fundamental to our work.

Our focus is on creating a net gain for wildlife, ensuring that our designs don’t just look good, but truly function for wildlife. We collaborate with architects to support their Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements, partner with planning consultants to secure planning permission, and work with residential clients to create wild-friendly, biodiverse gardens.
